The December trailer of Grand Theft Auto VI revealed that the next installment of the gangster series will be released first on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Therefore, it's not surprising that PC gamers, who make up a significant portion of the GTA community, are increasingly experiencing a lack of communication regarding the potential PC game release. Thirsty for information, they need to stay alert, as a breakthrough in this matter could happen soon.

During the TD Cowen conference, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked about the lack of GTA 6 announcements for PC (transcription via VGC ). His answer, although very vague, provided some clues.

But Rockstar has an approach to platforms which we’ve seen before, and they will make more announcements in due time. I do believe that the right strategy for our business is to be where the consumer is, and historically what this company has done is address consumers anywhere they are, on any platform that makes sense, over time -- he said.

Saying that "Rockstar has an approach to platforms which we’ve seen before, Zelnick," probably meant the typical policy of Rockstar Games of prioritizing consoles. Let us remind you that the titles that were released first on PlayStation and Xbox, and only later on PC, include GTA 4, GTA 5, L.A. Noire, and Red Dead Redemption 2. The exception is the first installment of RDR, which hasn't yet been released on personal computers (although recent rumors say that this may change soon).

Although Zelnick's statement lacked specifics, fans have undoubtedly become confident that the PC version of GTA 6 is only a matter of time. In fact, his words imply that the conversion will come out around the same time as RDR2 (about 12 months) - we likely won't have to wait as long for it as we did for GTA 5 (19 months).
