Location of the fish
This legendary fish can be found in Van Horn, near the lighthouse.
Where to stand exactly?
The best place to cast the rod will be the rock near the lighthouse. To get there you have to swim towards the rock. You can freely cast the rod down from of it. This will prevent it from catching on objects in the water.
What bait do I use?
To catch the Legendary Muskie, you have to use the Special River Lure.
What do I do with the fish?
Legendary Muskie is a huge fish. You can't hide it in your equipment. You have to put it on your horse and go to the post office. The nearest post office is in Van Horn.
Advice
1. Do not call your horse when you're standing on the rock - this may not really be an advice on fishing per se, but still - don't call your horse when you're standing on the rock. It will jump on the rock next to it, which will make it much more difficult to get out of the water and lay fish on its back.
2. Do not be afraid of the snakes around you - there are many snakes around this place. However, when you cast the rod, they won't bother you.
3. Do not bother other people - if someone catches you before you start fishing, do not answer them. Otherwise they will come and interfere with your fishing.
