Warhorse Studios participated in the recent Game Access show held in Brno, where questions were asked about its latest game - Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. One of the topics was technical issues, which, if you remember correctly, weren't the strong point of the first installment.

Martin Klíma, the developer of the game, shared the unfortunate news that the technical limitations of the Xbox Series S console had affected the capabilities of KCD2. This means that the team couldn't develop the game they fully wanted to.

Supposedly, the RAM memory of the less powerful Microsoft console was an important factor. The Series S has only 10 GB of RAM - just 2 GB more than the previous generation of consoles: PS4 and XOne. The necessity of developing a game for both XSX and XSS is therefore a major problem for devs, which unfortunately will also affect players.

During the event, it was also confirmed that the game will run in 4K resolution and 30 fps on PS5 and XSX, and in 1440p and 30 fps on XSS. As a reference regarding performance on PC, it was stated that a PC equipped with an RTX 4080 Super graphics card and a Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor managed to achieve 80 fps in 4K with DLSS enabled (as the developers have previously mentioned).

The technical specifications of Microsoft's less powerful console make themselves known in more than just the case of KCD2. Let's recall that last year's Baldur’s Gate 3 for Xbox was released much later than on PC and PS5 precisely because of that.
