Uses of Blood Essence
Blood Essence are required to create Castle Heart . This is a seed of the castle, responsible for its boundaries, defensive strength, and development options. Without Blood Essence, you can't build a castle, and this makes further growth impossible.
You need 30 Blood Essences to create a single Castle Heart.
Getting Blood Essences
Blood Essences are dropped from opponents that have blood. So skeletons (which you'll encounter many times during the initial phases of the gameplay) don't have what you need. But there are numerous blood carriers encountered in the world later on - deer, humans, wolves and other animals.
