Plot
The game is set in a cheerful, post-apocalyptic fantasy world, which was once led to a civilisation fall. However, this gloomy period is long gone. The land is dwelled by optimistic people who are searching ruins in order to find resources and other stuff that can be useful for building new societies.
You assume the role of a young craftsman who arrives in the titular Portia to become its valuable part and to help it thrive.
Mechanics
My Time at Portia for PC, SWITCH and etc. is a role-playing game with a sandbox structure, which gives freedom when it comes to picking quests and deciding what to do next. Initially, you have a small workshop where you can craft various items, both for sale and for yourself. With the progress, your business starts to flourish, which translates into higher income and access to more interesting orders.
During gameplay, you need to gather resources necessary for crafting items. Therefore, the hero has to engage in such activities as cutting down trees, collecting herbs, mining ores, and creating plantations. Regularly, you have to travel to dangerous areas filled with monsters and trap dungeons, so the arcade combat system plays an important role in the title.
Relationships with other village dwellers are also important. Each NPC has a unique history and biography. The hero can make friends, which significantly shapes the way people live in Portia. It is also possible to romance or even get married. The game features a set of minigames, such as fishing and snowball fighting.
